Mentored by ex-British Super Middleweight Enzo Giordano and taught by GB Olympic Boxing Coach Dave Pocknall, it was at IBC Matt became a popular coach for his hardcore, motivating style.

In 2011, Matt created the UK's first Get Fit Not Hit™ boutique boxing club, Total Boxer; so that the thrill and benefits of real boxing training could be enjoyed in a welcoming, non-threatening environment.

That same year Matt conceived BoxingYoga™ as a cutting-edge method to improve strength and flexibility, prevent injury, maximise power and maintain fitness.

Summer 2017 saw the launch of Matt's latest boxing fitness concept, HIIB® - High Intensity Interval Boxing - a 30-minute class that tests mental and physical strength, whatever your boxing experience or level of fitness.

SteveO has been boxing since he was a youngster and joined Total Boxer in 2013, quickly proving himself passionate and skilled. Having successfully completed the BoxingYoga Teacher Training course in 2015 I was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to teach at Total Boxer and feel so proud to be part of such an amazing club.”

Bobby Harrison - Boxing Coach & Marketing Manager

Bobby's love of boxing started with the golden age of British boxing, mesmerised by fighters such as Lennox Lewis, Naseem Hamed and Ricky Hatton. A lifelong passion for fitness, nutrition and a keen footballer, it wasn't until Bobby started training at Total Boxer in 2014 that his boxing skills emerged and he found his calling.

"I've watched boxing all my life and it was at Total Boxer where I fell in love with the training itself. I became obsessed; working out 3-4 times a week, getting seriously fit and learning the true craft of boxing. When Matt invited me to become an apprentice coach I jumped at the chance."

During his two-year apprenticeship Bobby's natural coaching style and passion for boxing became evident. He even spent a few months at the world famous Mendez boxing club in New York to get experience working with professional fighters. By 2016 Bobby successfully completed his Total Boxer coaching apprenticeship and, as a marketing man by profession, can now be found "living the dream" coaching on the Total Boxer gym floor or managing club media in the office.

Until Adam crossed the Total Boxer threshold for the very first time back in 2014, boxing was a sport he’d only enjoyed as a spectator. He soon became addicted. “Ever since my first session at Total Boxer I have become a piece of the furniture, attending sessions morning, noon and night - if my flailing muscles allow - and when I'm not doing my best to run a theatre company.”

“I’ve always been into sports, but for me, boxing isn’t just about the strength and fitness. You’re learning an entirely new skill which, at first seems so unnatural, but with each session you progress, learn and can’t help but push yourself even further everytime.”

A passionate and popular club member, Adam joined the Total Boxer Coaches Apprenticeship Scheme in 2016 and has since qualified to deliver excellent training sessions which, in his own words, “include some of my favourite and most challenging routines to put anyone through their paces."

In 2014, Denise successfully completed the BoxingYoga™ Teacher Training Course and was welcomed to the Total Boxer coaching team, quickly proving herself an extremely popular coach at her regular BoxingYoga™ classes.
