Total Boxer Amateur Boxing Club

Total Boxer was born in 2011 as the UK's first Get FIT Not HITboxing club, specialising in real boxing training to the recreational training community, in a welcoming and friendly environment.

In 2018, under the guidance of club founder and England Boxing Coach, Matt Garcia, we proudly established Total Boxer Amateur Boxing Club, our England Boxing affiliated competitive division, located on the top floor of our two floor facility in Hornsey, North London.

Boxers registered with Total Boxer ABC have the exciting opportunity to represent the club at regional, national and international competitions and, for the very best, even the Olympics.

Training Schedule & FEES

Under England Boxing rules, Total Boxer ABC is a separate company to the original club. Existing Total Boxer memberships and class credits can not be used for Amateur training.

All boxers should expect focussed, serious training with the aim of personal development and competitive success. As such, all boxers are required to complete a training, sparring and competition waiver before their first training session.

Training Schedule

Tuesdays & Thursdays 5pm - 6.30pm
Sundays 11am - 12.30pm

Training Fee

£5 per session - cash only on arrival. No booking is required.

Equipment Needed

All boxers should have hand wraps, gloves, gum shield, groin guard and headgear. Most items are available to borrow or purchase at the club.

Boxer Registration

Anyone can train at Total Boxer ABC but to compete all boxers must be registered with England Boxing, choose Total Boxer as the associated club and pay the annual registration fee of £11, directly to England Boxing.

To participate in club, regional, national and international competition all boxers must also complete a BCR1 application form and be checked by a doctor. BCR1 forms can be drawn up once registration is complete.

New boxers are required to have a completed BCR1 application form, have 2 printed passport photos and a photocopy of ID (passport, driver’s license or birth certificate).

Current ‘active’ boxers, BCR1’s can be sent in the post.

Applications should be sent to: Reggie Hagland, Islington Boxing Club, 20 Hazeville Road, London N19 3LP. A self-addressed envelope with correct return postage must be supplied.

After the BCR1 is handed over, all boxers must have medicals done by a registered England Boxing doctor. When the initial full medical is completed, the BCR1 must be sent back to the address above to be stamped for the forthcoming season.
